9.     Nausea and vomiting

Types of cysts:

There are many different types of ovarian cyst, which can be categorized as either:
·       Functional ovarian cysts are the most common type. These are harmless cysts and are short-lived.
·       Pathological cysts are growing in the ovaries; they may be harmless or cancerous.

Diagnosis and treatment

Most of the cysts disappear without treatment within a few months. Most ovarian cysts have no signs or symptoms, remain undiagnosed. A cyst may be diagnosed during a pelvic examination or ultrasound scan. The shape, size, and composition of the cyst, can be determined after diagnosis by the scan.
